PIXIA Corps Presents at the European Union’s Satellite Centre Industry Days Event

Mark Sarojak, VP of Global Sales and Marketing @ PIXIA Corp, presented an overview of PIXIA’s technologies for large geospatial data management and access at the European Union’s Satellite Centre Industry Days event held 4-6 October 2016 in Madrid, Spain.  In attendance were several member nations of the EU, as well as participants from many supporting organizations.  Live demonstrations of PIXIA’s HiPER DRIVE technology were provided by Dave Brett, Technical Sales Manager for PIXIA’s commercial and international business unit.

PIXIA Corps Chief Operating Officer (COO) Pat Ernst speaks with ApoGeo Spatial about the void left by Google’s Earth exit from the marketplace and the new technologies that are taking its place.  Pat highlights several new developments at PIXIA, including HiPER LOOK’s optional KiOSK module for making ultra-portable data servers, called HiPER DRIVEs.  Also discussed is HiPER EARTH, PIXIA’s newest web interface for viewing imagery directly in a browser.

PIXIA Corp is part of winning team for US Army’s “HR3D” program

PIXIA co-sponsored the fourth annual Giving Thanks 5k road race on Thanksgiving morning to benefit wounded warriors and their families. Thanks to the generosity of many sponsors and 550 race participants, over $13,000 was donated to the Fisher House and Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). PIXIA wishes to thank all who participated and volunteered—you helped make the race a fun and successful event! It is rewarding to know we’re all in this together, racing for those who no longer can and for those warriors and their families who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Cow-Tipping Intelligence

The scene opens with an elderly man steering a large herd of long-horned cattle along a path well worn by animal tracks. It is dry season, and the cattle are being driven down the same path similar herds have migrated along for centuries following the river. The herd and herdsmen move deliberately but cautiously against a backdrop of dense tropical rainforest and low African grasslands. An open-air market bustles with activity in a nearby village. As the camera pans further north along the cattle trail, a criminal gang can be seen on foot with rifles and recently poached ivory slung across their shoulders. When it zooms out over the canopy, we catch a brief glimpse of an insurgent leadership ring breaking camp. The sound of a Ugandan military helicopter gunship can be heard in the distance…

Industry Interview with Rudi Ernst of PIXIA

I started my career at ABC Television and Walt Disney as a systems engineer focusing on multimedia data dissemination and visualization. I worked alongside brilliant technologists who were building solutions for multimedia content distribution and interactive media systems. The last major project I worked on for ABC Television was the Millennium show, where we virtually flew between various major cities around the world using commercial satellite imagery from Ikonos a couple of months after the satellite became operational in 1999.

USGIF Announces 2013 Award Recipients

The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) announced its six winners of the 2013 USGIF Awards Program. This year’s recipients include the Dover Area High School’s Geospatial Technology Program (Academic Achievement); Richard M. Medina, George Mason University (Academic Research); Melissa Martz, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (Administrative/Support); Robert L. Arbetter, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (Government Achievement); Pixia Corp. (Industry); and the TacSat-3 Exploitation Team (Military Achievement). The winners received their awards this morning during general session at the GEOINT 2013* Symposium in Tampa, Florida.
