Introduction
PIXIA Corp. (PIXIA) is a commercial software and solutions provider based in Reston, Virginia. Drawing from its founder’s roots in the broadcast and media industry, the company was founded in 1999 with a mission of applying its digital imagery experience to addressing the issues of BIG data access.
Originally intended for commercial applications, the company's focus shifted after the terrorist attacks on 9/11, when it realized its software could revolutionize the way massive digital imagery files could be accessed within the U.S. Defense and Military branches around the world.
Leader in BIG Data Access
PIXIA is the industry leader in high-performance scalable data access solutions for a variety of high-volume data problems such as Wide Area Surveillance (WAS), Full Motion Video (FMV), and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) Data. Its core technology focuses on increased storage I/O, scalability and interoperability to power BIG data to be accessed anywhere within a cloud environment. PIXIA’s three product lines: HiPER LOOK®, HiPER STARE® and HiPER WATCH®, provide a broad range of options to address geospatial and video enterprise storage needs.
Complete Solution Provider
PIXIA helps customers realize the full potential of data collection by providing end-to-end software solutions in order to meet their unique needs and requirements. Its problem-solving methods are innovative and agile, while optimizing the hardware and software infrastructure currently in place for its customers. PIXIA understands the complex and multi-faceted environments in which its software is used, as well as the role its products play within the larger mission of geospatial data collection, intelligence and analysis. Hence, PIXIA is able to ask the right questions in order to identify key performance issues, and then offer a systems-wide solution designed specifically for these needs.
Transforming Data into Knowledge
PIXIA serves the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD), Homeland Security, and Intelligence Community (IC) where BIG data is abundant. Perhaps the most significant trend in the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) market over the past few years has been the spectacular growth in data volumes. Whether you are an analyst, a field collection team or a military agency, you are storing more and more data. While effectively managing BIG data becomes extremely complex, end users expect consistently faster query response times. Meeting these growing demands for more information in a timely manner requires an alternative approach, an approach that accelerates deployments without compromising scalability, performance, and security. PIXIA's technology plays a crucial role in addressing this challenge.
Numerous decision makers within the DOD, DHS, and IC today deploy PIXIA technology and solutions.
PIXIA is an active member within several Geospatial, GIS, and ISR organizations to include: United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF), Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and as a Principal Member of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).
PIXIA’s HiPER LOOK and HiPER STARE products comply with Federal Section 508 standards.
